Despite the long history of the Free Software Foundation (FSF) and the venerable age of the ideas laid down by it, with more than 30 years passed, despite the 20-year history of the Open Source concept and the already long-standing publication of the essay “The Cathedral and the Bazaar” by Eric Raymond, the society in general and the community of developers in particular still do not cease to argue over the topics raised there. And they still continue to confuse terms, free as in freedom and free as in beer, still oppose collective development through open source code to companies and doing business.
We will try, once again, to convey the idea that Free / Open Source Software is about how to self-realize through involvement into promoting and developing innovations together with the community; doing business, on the other hand, is about how to go together with this, promoting the ideas of Free / Open Source Software along with business growth and the market expansion. It is all about a symbiosis rather than a competition.
